Day 9: July 5, 2010

We left Philadelphia and headed towards Valley Forge.  This was not part of the plan but since it was so close, we could not skip it.

The kids looking at the soldiers things.

Wildlife....

An old bridge...

Train station....
The ticket counter...

Washington's headquarters...

As we drove through Pennsylvania, we saw some awesome farms and lots of corn.

This was the sight at the local Family Dollar.

I guess we have found "Amish Country."

The town that everyone seems to visit is Intercourse, PA. So we could not pass through it without stopping.

We were trying to find a pretzel place where you could make your own.
We tried several stores for this venture.

This factory does tours but we were too late.  They did not allow visitors to make pretzels today because the humidity was too high.  Haylee was not happy.  We decided just to try one from here too.

She liked it...  It was sugar & spice.

Next stop HERSHEY!!

The kids have been BEGGING to camp in a tent.  When looking for places to stay near Hershey, we discovered that they have a campground.  So we are going to give camping a try.

About 30-45 minutes later....

Since we arrived by 7:00, we were able to go to Hershey Park for a couple of hours tonight.
The kids rode about 10 rides.

They loved riding the motorcycles because they had horns!!

They wanted to ride every ride and that included one that neither David nor I wanted to ride but they were too little to ride by themselves....and now I know why.   It has been a long time since I have gotten sick on a ride because I just avoid them.  It didn't look so bad before I got on but... I was wrong.  I was dizzy for most of the rest of the night...  at least it was almost over..

Later David rode a ride that "messed" him up too.  I was still not feeling well so there are no pictures of him.

Making some new friends
