We decided it would be cool to spend the 4th in one of the most historical places in the USA: Philadelphia. We were up early to catch a parade through Independence Square.
Colonial Band
William Penn
The Mayor walking in the parade and not riding in a car...it was already about 95 degrees...
Another band playing some great patriotic songs.
Our American Hero
Betsy Ross
A float...
A flag from every state...
Soldiers....
Pretzel anyone....
We decided to skip the pretzel being pushed around on the shopping cart..
The parade went on for about 2 hours.
After the patriotic part was over, we decided it was time for us to move on to something else.
Wax figures in the visitor's center.
The liberty bell
Then we took a tour through Independence Hall..... sorry it's name Pennsylvania State House.
We were told th other was just a nick name..
Our first stop on the tour was to listen to a guide talk and try to joke. Some was good information but with a 2 year old, we would have skipped this part so that others would not have been rolling their eyes and telling him to be quiet when he just wanted to play peek-a-boo with them.
The same room from the picture...
A court room...
The "jail" looking box thath Haylee is looking at is where the person would stand during his trial...
that's where we get "standing trial" from..
The House Of Representatives
The Senate
We could not leave Philadelphia without trying cheese steak...
It was good..and the ones you can get at Texadelphia are just as good.
Christ Church. This is where many notable people attended church. Many even had their own pew...
even George Washington
Next the Betsy Ross House.. there weren't very many places inside that you were allowed to take pictures.
It had a very narrow stair case
Her final resting place..
Penn's Landing
Franklin's Grave...
Haylee got some of those new bracelets that are shapes and then after you wear them; they get their shape back...well she gave some to Carson and tried to where them as a necklace but he got them caught in his hair...this is the result after I got them out of his hair...
Fireworks to end the day....
These pictures don't really show the greatness ofthe show..
Great pictures! Feel like I was there! Thanks!
