John Deere

Carson's class at school has been studying about the farm.  Luckily the librarian at his school loves John Deere and brought his tractor to school for the kids to have their picture made on.
Carson's class
The tractor was loud when it was started.
The principal driving the tractor.
Carson enjoyed watching the tractor.
I wasn't sure I was going to be able to climb on the tractor, but as you can see I did.
Carson was excited to get on the tractor.

2012: New Year's Eve & New Year's Day

I have gotten way behind on our blog.  One of my resolutions is to do a better job on keeping the blog updated.  Since there is too much to go back and add, I'll start today and go forward.

We visited David's family in Arkansas for New Year's.  The kids had fun on New Year's Eve.  We stayed up long enough to watch the ball drop in Times Square.

We only let them blow the horns for a few minutes... we couldn't take it.

They had a great time!!!

Then on New Year's Day we ate our cabbage and black eye peas for good luck and then went to see Alvin and the Chipmunks:  Chip-Wrecked.  It was a pretty cute movie.  Carson even sat still and watched the entire movie.

Week-End Trip

We went to San Antonio for the weekend.  On the way, we stopped in Waco for dinner.  This was our first time to try Health Camp.  It was awesome!
Since it was so late, we got our order to go and headed on to Austin for the night.

We got up early the next morning and headed on to San Antonio.
Our first stop was the dolphins.  We missed feeding time, so the kids just tried to pet one.
Then we headed to see the sharks an other fish.
Since it was inside, we were also able to cool off.
Haylee was ready to enjoy some rides.
The kids saw several characters.

It was time to find another inside place to cool off.  So we headed to a 4-D show.
We could only keep the kids out of the water for so long.
So it was time for them to splash around.
We went to feed the sea lions and there was a new baby.
Next, we went to watch the Clyde and Seymore show.
Haylee's favorite kind of car
The penguin exhibit is great.  It's inside and you stand on a moving floor.
AZUL!!!
SHAMU
After a great but hot day at Sea World, we headed to our hotel for a quick shower and then it was out to the River Walk.  This was the first time we actually stayed at a hotel on the River Walk.  It was nice just to walk out the back door and not load the car again.
The next morning, we slept in before heading home.  We stopped in Austin for lunch.
We always try to find a place to eat that is unique to Austin.
We found Home Slice Pizza.
It is just a little New York style pizza place.  It didn't open to 11:45 but the line formed well before that time.  If it was that popular, we new it was going to be great.
It was a BIG pizza.
We got Haylee to fold the pizza in half and eat it like a "New Yorker."
One last stop before leaving Austin...
We shared 2 cupcakes... strawberry and Michael Jackson
Strawberry was Carson's favorite.
