Day 6: Des Moines, Iowa to LaCrosse, Wisconsin

We got up early and were ready to get a lot accomplished.  Well, Haylee had different plans.  She had been on an antibiotic for a week before this happened.
She had this rash all over her arms, and legs.   Trying to find a doctor out of state  was not easy to do.  We finally found a doctor that was in-network.  After a detour to the doctor, and a shot, she was starting to feel better.  She had an allergic reaction to the antibiotic.  While trying to find a doctor, we drove around the capital building in Des Moines.
Now it was lunch time.  From friends we found out about a place in Ames, so we decided to try it out.  It is called Hickory Park.
After some BBQ, we decided to try some ice cream.  They had about 50 to choose from.  We decided on the David's Sundae.  It was so yummy!!
They also have a little candy store in the front.  You just decide what you want, and then put the money in a box.
From there, we headed to Dyersville to see the Field of Dreams movie set.
The kids even played on the field.

They also walked out into the corn fields.

From there we drove on to Wisconsin.  Did I mention that there are corn fields everywhere.  I have never seen so much corn.  If they are not growing corn, then they are growing soy beans.

There were some cool farms though...
We did also see some beautiful sites

Finally made it Wisconsin.  Grabbed dinner and headed to the hotel.
